Emerging Band: Beach Fossils
BUZZNET has dedicated the month of March to the undiscovered, emerging bands and arist who we think you should be listening to. This time around I picked Beach Fossils, a NYC band who have been making me giddy with their music.

They give off such a cool, twisted, Summer love, organic indie vibe that is truly impressive ( the drums are always rad). They just released a new record on the 19th and i've been playing it with friends. One of those "Have you heard Beach Fossils It's life changing (cracks stero). Check it out
One band who has its ups and downs when it comes to members. A true way of showing that you will find a way to keep doing what you love. They are currently signed with Captured Tracks and I honestly feel like they can take over the world in any day now.
You have to know some stand out tracks right? Well take a listen to Golden Age, Window View, Generational Synthetic.

Emerging Band: The CO
It's emerging talent month on BUZZNET and I'm so excited to be sharing some of my favorite up and coming talent with you guys. As a BUZZMAKER, this is one of my main areas. There is so many little hidden music gems out there and I always like to share what I find. Our generation is constanly sharing music and thats how some of todays top acts are becoming discovered. Who knows, maybe you might of just stumbled on the early stages of a SUPERSTAR.

This week I'm bringing you a little band called The CO. A pop rock band from good ol' Nashvegas. They just released a new record at the start of the year and I have fallen 'head of heels' in love. 'Keep It Together' is an album that I would want played If my life was turned into a movie. It's too perfect for words. It also doesnt hurt that they are easy on the eyes (SWOON)
'Two Against One' is a stand out for me. The vibe off that song hits places like no other. Also really enjoying the title track, 'Keep It Together'. But, who am I kidding. Every song off the album is incredible.
This band is about to go places and I'm sure you'll be hearing a lot of BUZZ over them soon. If you're headed to SXSW make sure to stumble into there set.
So HIT these fine folks up and stalk their music life:
Stay Tuned: I'm just getting started with new music to check out

Gabbie Brown Shares Her Adventures At Winter Jam
I know.. I know.. I've been M.I.A lately on my blog. Mostly because I've been traveling but, don't worry. I got some AMAZEBALLS of post coming your way. This weekend I was in Chicago visting some friends and tour fam.

I was able to go hang out with some of my favorite people at Winter Jam again. Now, for those of you who don't know what Winter Jam is.. Well, it's the TOP SELLING tour in the world! It's sold out pretty much every night. It's one of those, gotta be there to understand the hype. It's like a mini indoor music festival that includes 10 bands.
I love watching the show and to see it again made me fall in love with it even more. Some of my fav sets included OBB, Jason Castro, Red, Royal Tailor and Newsong.

But TobyMac hands down has me singing along every time. So many amazing elements in his set. Dancing, DJing, and lets not forget a Marching Band!
The highlight for me was being able to jump on stage and dance in front of 12,000+ people with my pals OBB and JAK. Now I've danced on stage with Katy Perry, but something about this moment was unreal. I had a moment where I just looked out and was in awe. It's amazing that these performers get to see that many faces staring back at them. It's almost overwhelming. Here's a Video of the me in action.
If You Could Dance On Stage With A Musician Who Would It Be?

Hey You, Why Did You Change?
A blog is suppose to be a place where you share your feelings, right? A place where you can just be stripped, raw and tell your side of a story. Lay it all out with no hype or gloss.

Wanna tell you I'm alright. Wanna say I'm not in Pain, But I will just be telling lies. I'm not okay, Not Okay.
The art of people changing is something that has become more and more present in my life. I met someone who I thought fit perfect into my life. He was someone who could hold his end in a music conversation, make me laugh and treated me like I was on cloud 9.
Wanna travel back in time. Say the things I didn't say. I wanna tell you everything if it's not too late. Is it too late?
Sometimes I wish I could travel back and relive those moments. The van, the coffee shop, the t-shirt, the little head kisses. Maybe I should of been honest, I was after all holding back. I know your type. You sweep every girl off her feet in every city. I was never sure if you ever truly cared for me.
Stay awake and talk to me
Craving for a call, a text, a hey you. A moment where we just lay it out on the line.
Never really saw the real you, Never really let it go
There was always two sides of you. I saw one and got to actually experience another. I know everything and you probably don't know that. I never really let it go that you were seeing somebody else while we were still (hand quotes) together.
Will you be there If I call? Will you leave me in the rain? If I say it's all my fault, will you still walk away? I understand if you're afraid. But people change.
So, now here we are, pretending like nothing happened between us. I still feel weird texting you, wearing the shirt you got me. See you're the kinda person that believes in makin' out once. Love 'em and leave 'em fast. I'm still left in a daze of what really happened. Feeling like I had to be perfect in every shape, but I couldnt do it. You write songs, I write blogs and this ones for you.

Why Not Share The Things I Love
Today is all about sharing and celebrating the things you love (Even though I believe this should occur year round). Sure, I'm single and haven't recieved a text from the guy I like (Bummer). But I thought why not celebrate the things I adore instead of sitting in bed asking myself why I'm single.

1. Crave: For King and Country

These guys are such a force to be reckon with in the music world. Not only are they fantastic song writers but they are one of my favorite groups to see live. I've been IN LOVE with this album since January of last year. It landed in my lap as an early Vday gift from a boy before it was released, and I've been hooked ever since. 'Middle of Your Heart" and "Proof of Your Love" are perfect songs for today.
2. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden

Yes, It's true. I want to be just like them when I grow up. They are one of my favorite hollywood marriage couples. The way they both cherish each other makes me swoon. They both support each others career and Nicole is one of my fashion icons.
3. Almost Famous

It's tradition that I watch Almost Famous on Valentines Day. It's one of my all time favorite movies and Penny Lane is my spirit animal. I think Pennys story about falling for a musician who in the end doesnt appericate her until shes gone is heartfelt. I could watch this movie a thousand times and never be sick of it.
4. Cupcakes

I adore cupcakes, I mean who doesn't. It's perfectly okay to eat a dozen on a day like today. I will no doubt be baking a few batches and decorating.
5. Steven Tyler

Are you shocked he's on my list? Probably not, but he needed to be included. I just watched The Making Of Pump and I pretty much fell in love with him. He's one of the people that I want to get inside of his head. His passion and love for music is on the same level as me.
Happy Valentines Day Buzznet Pals. Spend today making a list of things you adore. You're all adored by me!

Is Music Going Back To Basics?
I absolutely adore music from the earlier years. The whole big band era simply makes me loose my breath. But nothing more magical then music from the 60's to 80's. You might remember when Christina Aguilera released her album 'Back to Basics' with music that inspired her as a singer. It's one of my favorites!
Lately I've been noticing a trend in artist and musicians taking it back to basics. Re-inventing the sound that they grew up listening to. Bruno Mars is no stranger to this. His total package screams James Brown with a twist. He's even kicking it up a knotch with 'Locked Out Of Heaven' which resembles Sting/ The Police.

Another band throwing it Back To Basics. The newly Grammy award winning band, Fun. 'Some Nights' reminded me of Simon and Garfunkel and Kansas (Cecila, Carry On My Wayward Son).

I couldn't leave Justin Timberlake out. 'Suit and Tie' is a modern day fairy tale for the classic Big Bang music. His Grammy performance even was a tribute to that era. Reminded me of times where you would take your man or lady out on the town for a night of dancing.

I'm loving that these artist are bringing it back with a twist! Let me know your thoughts below!

Gabbie Brown Shares Her Favorite Prince Tracks
I thought that it was time.. Time to bring Prince to my BUZZNET blog. Well, not really Prince (How cool would that be?)

If we're pals on twitter, I'm sure you have seen me sharing some of my favorite lyrics. My mom got me into Prince back in the day. He would always be playing. I actually shared one of my favorite albums of Prince's back in September on my Amoeba Adventure. Anyways, Prince is not only a fantastic singer but people tend to forget how INSANE of a guitar player he is. I could probably spend all day talking about him and his career (Maybe over coffee sometime soon?)
Here are my ABSOLUTE favorite Prince songs. Get your Sexy on

BUZZNET'S Fresh Face: Youtuber Kara Della Valle
It's time to introduce you to our newest fresh face and this time it's youtuber Kara Della Valle! Kara is taking youtube by storm with her covers and orginal music. So let's get to know her!

GB:How did you get your start?
Kara: YouTube was the first place I ever put myself out there as a musician. People in my personal life didn't even know I wrote songs or sang. When I started YouTube I didn't even play guitar yet so I think it was the perfect place for me to grow. Just one day I was bored with a friend who did play guitar and I mentioned to her that I wrote songs and we filmed it and put it up and I was hooked ever since!
GB: Youtube is one of your platforms. How do you choose what your next song is going to be?
Kara: Sometimes it takes me a while to put new music up because I always want to make sure I can relate to the song I'm singing. I always say that honesty is my favourite part of music. When I do decide what song I'm going to put up, it's always because I can relate to it. It's always fun looking back and watching the videos and knowing how I felt back then. My YouTube channel is my public diary in a way. The people who support me know everything.
GB:To anyone hoping to get a start on Youtube what do you recommend?
Kara:Just do it! I think a lot of people think about success more than having fun, and you need to make sure you're doing what you love. People will know your intentions even if you come off the opposite. Just be honest with yourself and put out what you want, and other people will appreciate it. I think YouTube is the best thing that has happened to me and I hope everyone with a dream or a hobby puts themselves out there. It's amazing what can happen.
GB: Being a Fresh Face to the music industry, what challenges have you faced?
Kara: It's hard because there's so many people doing exactly what I'm trying to do. We all have the same goals and it's difficult watching someone else get your dream sometimes. I'm so thankful for the support I've gotten so far and never would've imagined anything close to it. This industry is hard, but every time someone's tells me my song changed their day or made them feel better, it's 100% worth it. I wouldn't give it up for anything.
GB: What do you have planned next?
Kara: What I really want to do next is start playing live more often. I haven't gotten a chance to get out there yet and I'd love to see that happen. The support of everyone is allowing me to get closer to that. I do have a free live show in Syracuse, NY coming up in the spring featuring some other youtubers, which I'm so pumped for! All that information will be on my website www.karadellavalle.com soon! xx Gabbie
