One of those, we're always off and on. Never know what we are or where we stand. Always turning to another page. The when we're reuinted it's almost too much to handle and we don't know how to act around each other. 

What Am I To You? 5 words that pop into my head when ever you decided that you're not busy. You know that guy that you always wanted to date and then kind of had a thing or fling and he just stopped talking you because he was into actresses. The only texts or calls when it's convient to him or wants you to boost his ego. 

We're Friends Or Are We? The most common asked questions. I think I need to redefine the term friends in my life. A friend, is someone who is always there for you, not someone who only wants to hang when you have something cool happening or only wants to talk when they want something.

It's truly heartbreaking that we now have to question the motives of ever person we let in our lives. I'm never okay with the not knowing what we are, but lately I just can't escape it. I wish more people were honest with each other. Especially when it comes to relationships.

This blog is my baby and I couldn't be more proud of how far this little page has come within the last year. From being able to have blog takeovers to attending festivals and going record shopping, you could say this is the best buzziversary yet! 

I've gotten to meet so many of you at shows and I'm still in awe that you guys read what I have to say about music. Thank you for the countless emails, tweets, letters and gifts! It makes me smile reading about how ____ this blog inspired your or how you discovered_______ this band because of my interview. 

So I'm not sure what the future with BUZZNET holds. I just want to say thank you for letting me live my dream and blog about my one true love, music. To even be considered a BUZZMAKER is a huge accomplishment. So here's to hopefully many more nights of me sitting alone in my room writting silly blogs for you!

There's something so special about a ballad. Maybe it's the fact that they are so rare nowadays, which is a bummer. I personally love them and love the feeling and journey they take you on. The 80's had some of the greatest ballads written of all time. You could get 3 to 4 powerful ballads on one record.  Ballads have became a dying style in todays music world. Mostly due to the fact they aren't going to become a single and most people skip over them. Making a ballad as a single is a risky thing and kudos to Bruno Mars for taking that challenge.

So I've made you guys a lovely playlist of some of my favorite ballads.

Let me know what you think of ballads and If they should make a comeback.

Gabbie: You both had a pretty wild ride in the music industry. What made you decided that it was time to start Smoke Season. 

Jason: The way we came to play together was a happy accident. One night we were just casually jamming at our shared rehearsal space when we turned around and realized we had just written our first single, Soleil.  The songwriting was so fluid and the chemistry was so authentic that moving forward seemed like the only feasible option.

Gabbie: What would you say Smoke Season stands for?  

Jason: We define Smoke Season as "A period of time defined by that which is evanescent, obscure and without result."  Both of us have had our own interactions with the "smoke-and-mirrors" aspect of the music industry that have left a bad taste in our mouths.  We've found that too often bands don't write their own songs or dilute their creative process to be more "radio-friendly".  Using this as our inspiration, we decided to create music we found was beautiful and that we loved and, hey, if other people did too than that was a beautiful thing.  We ended our own "Smoke Season" by making the art we want and rejecting the idea of writing the "next pop hit".    

Gabbie:  The whole vibe of your new EP is unique and different in so many ways. It's quite lovely and refreshing. Was the whole sound developing process organic? It seems very natural. How did you know this was the right fit for you guys.  

Gabby: Our songwriting process is extremely fluid.  One of us will start with an idea, like a riff, lyrical phrase, or chord progression, and then we'll show it to the other and develop the entire song.  The combination of our musical influences and backgrounds makes a really unique vibe.  We found that we write our songs really quickly because we just trust our instincts and use whatever we come up with.  This is also why a lot of our songs have unconventional structures and seems to flow more adventurously than the standard verse-choruse-verse-chorus format.  

Gabbie: Along with the EP you have a new video that you released for one of the tracks, 'SOLEIL'. I would say it redefines the term music video. So many different elements are being shown. Tell us what the process was like for turning that song into a vision.  

Gabby: We were completely hands on making the Soleil music video. I directed it, and then Jason edited. I wanted to use metaphor and symbolism to tell weave an honest love story in today's world.  The first symbol we drew heavily on was color.  The video starts in black and white, symbolizing the absence of love for the two characters.  They are slowly waking up to a world with love but haven't yet found it.  When the color is introduced, the characters have found love.  However, in today's world, love stories are never fairy tales and often times people lose the love they find because the world gets in the way. This is why the color drains out by the end of the video.  

Jason: We also used the dreamcatcher to symbolize another major theme in the plot.  We've found that the most beautiful moments in life, like when you're in love, are very dreamlike.  The blending of these dreams and reality are captured by the polaroids in the dreamcatcher.  The characters were catching life moments that felt like dreams.    

Gabbie: Being an emerging band can have it challenges with getting people on board. What song would you say makes Smoke Season, Smoke Season and would recommend our readers dive into first?  

Jason: That's always a tough question, cause all these songs really are our babies. But, I would have to say Felix holds a special place in our hearts. For me, not only is it named after my grandfather but also because it encapsulates our sound all in one song.  It feels like an adventure that peaks at a moment of blended music and poetry.  

Gabbie: Do you guys have plans for another music video?  

Gabby: Absolutely. It's important for us to continue Smoke Season as an audio-visual experience and multimedia vision.  

Gabbie: What can we expect from Smoke Season as the year progresses? More music, touring? Where do you hope to go in the music world?  

Jason: Well first, we're performing a StageIt Live Webcast Show this Sunday, April 28th (5PM PST/8PM EST) so our fans can watch Smoke Season wherever they are. Next step, we're planning a tour to BRING Smoke Season to them wherever they are.  

Gabby: We're also really excited to announce that we'll be playing an important album release show at the Troubadour on Saturday May 25th.  All the information for tickets is available on our website.  The last thing to mention is that we haven't stopped writing.  The songs keep coming… So there may just have to be a Signals Part II sometime soon….

A thought that has been keeping me up until the wee hours of the morning. You see, our story never really had an ending. I was too much of a girl to actually call him out and he was not much of a man to end it. So instead, the texts got shorter, and the time inbetween them got longer.

So what do you do when someone forgets about you? You forget about them. I hit the erase contact and cleared you from the timeline. I truthful almost threw up, but I thought a pat on the back was much better. 16 year old me would of said "You're Crazy" but  20 year old me knew it was time to let go.....My heart told me to leave.

I had a conversation the other night with a friend who saw every single side. The good, bad, cute, ugly. The calling her in the middle of an airport giddy/ crying from my hotel room. I somehow stumbled on one of our conversations from when me and his story began. " I think it's the way he is with you. He has a LOT of girls that he's friendly with but he's different around you. And people approve of you... Everyone was like "Aww that makes me happy." "They look good together". She also told me to tell him if I felt like I was losing him...... That conversation never happened between us.. I had already lost him.

I can't recall the last time he talked to me.... Or the last time he told me he liked me.

----- Flash Forward To Present-------------

My gal pal had texted me and his name was brought up and It started off with us both mentioning that we were sad and some how we blamed the universe. 

R:"Yep. This is the end" G: "This is the universe saying you can do better"

A book, d-list girl, a denial about the whole thing, Tyson Ritter, and his ego were also mentioned.

It seems I can't escape his scent, name, voice. It's like I fell down the Rabbit Hole and he's the rabbit. Everything that happened seems unreal. I'm thinking about all the things I miss about being with him. What do you do when someone says "I just see you guys tieing the knot in the future" SCARY.... I'm not even in the right mind set to be thinking about that.... Maybe that was the problem. Or the whole other girl...girls...and a fake friend.

I'm just a 20 year old girl, who blogs about music, with hopes to take over Late Night. And whatever IT was, has now turned into a story with unclear scripples and dust. Wondering if you ever blow it off, turn back and say, "Man I Miss Her"

It's getting towards the end of this wonderful month of Emerging Talent on BUZZNET! I've been getting to know a lot of cool bands thanks to you guys and I hope you've enjoyed some of the new bands i've brought to you.

Today, I'm sharing one of my favorite little gems of a secret. I know you guys are probably going to ask me why I didn't introduce you to them sooner. I can honestly see them heading out on Warped Tour in the future!

I first got the chance to catch We As Human perform when they were out on Winter Jam last year. I was interviewing some bands at a couple dates and working merch and they caught my eye every time. They are refreshing and hard core with a indie flare. 

They are currently signed with Altantic Records and are hitting the road with RED. Not to mention they caught the eye of Skillet frontman John Cooper!

Yes, I'd rather spend my time listening to classic rock on vinyl then going out and meeting boys. Taco Bell is indeed way better than most boys and If I wanna cuddle I should probably get a dog. I guess when I try to date, the timing is always off. Or in most cases the boy is just a player. 

I don't see the point in dating for fun or dating because I NEED a boyfriend.. Ladies, you DO NOT need a boyfriend. What you need is water, food and air. Sure, a boyfriend is nice but its not a life or death situation. Is that what you call Old Fashion (Somebody clarify). 

Time is precious and valuable and you should find somebody who understands that. Somebody who knows your worth. This is something I've been trying to wrap around my head. Time, Worth and Value. All important things that us girls are. If a guy says, "Lets keep this between you and me" or my personal fav " don't tell anyone" he doesn't know your worth. (Been in that situation way to many times)

I'm sure you've sat at home and asked, when is it going to happen. That happening being the right guy. Maybe you've never had a boyfriend or you've been burned to many times. Maybe you likes a guy but he has a girlfriend or you don't know where you stand with someone. Breathe... calm down.. If it's meant to happen it will (I know I hate It). Don't change your hair cause he likes brunettes or lose weight cause he likes models. BE YOU. 

I'm sure you look at your friends relationships and say "Hey, I want that". It can be yours too, when the timing is right. When you respect yourself, set limits and know your worth. 

Who knows when you'll meet THE ONE. My future husband could be reading this blog right now (Hi, I hope you enjoy quoting movies and adore Prince). I guess as we get older we stress over finding that person. Somebody who we want to have kids with, share tender moments, supports my career, dance around the kitchen to Aerosmith with. It would be less stressful to know that the one you date is getting the time they deserve. All of you.

I heard this over the weekend " 20 minutes or 20 years somebody will come and swoop you up. Be patient" Maybe not as soon as 20 minutes, I can't meet him while I'm watching The Amazing Race and eating peanut butter M&M's in PJ's... Or can I? God, whoever you belive in, time or fate will bring you the person you're suppose to spend your life with.

So enjoy being single, unless you find somebody who is worth your time, value and AMAZING personality/heart.

Do you even have the right to call them a friend, or is, I'm not sure were we stand a better term for them. Things are always left unsaid and you're afraid to mention anything. This person could be a fling, an ex, a pal who you just met but really have feelings for, or an old buddy from college. 

What are we suppose to say to these people? "It would be really cool if you would actually stick around for a little while" or " Hey you, glad to see you still have that".

Why are we so afraid to confront them? Is it because we feel that they might actually fade from our lives? 

The words, "Sorry, I've been busy" are unexpectable. If we truly cared for each other, or were truly friends, making time to talk shouldnt be a rare occasion.

Here I'am to tell you, you're gone like magic... again.
